I4E Open Science Database

Deliverable 2.4

SUMMARY
The INVEST alliance achieved a significant milestone through Task 2.4, which focused on fostering Open Science practices and facilitating collaboration among researchers. This task spans from M12 to M36 and involved several key components.
The task aimed to develop the INVEST4EXCELLENCE Open Science Code, a comprehensive document outlining ethical rules, principles of Open Science, and best practices in scientific research. The code’s implementation fostered a culture of transparency, collaboration, and integrity within the alliance. The Virtual Campus, a crucial tool within the alliance supports the administrative and educational processes of the partner universities. Task 2.4 developed an online document repository system on the Virtual Campus, integrated with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) via the ZENODO API. The system facilitates document sharing and enhanced research collaboration. With this deliverable, the Open Science Code becomes the bedrock of Open Science adoption within the alliance. It emphasized ethical conduct, openness, and data management best practices. The code also paves the way for the INVEST4EXCELLENCE Open Science Database, promoting the sharing of research content among alliance members. The integration of the Virtual Campus with EOSC enables seamless data exchange and sharing. Leveraging the ZENODO API, the system allows authorized users to share documents on EOSC and Zenodo platforms. This integration improves research both visibility and collaboration.
The successful implementation of Task 2.4 required meticulous planning and collaboration. Technical complexities, data security, user adoption, interoperability, and resource allocation were addressed to ensure a smooth deployment. The Open Science Code, Virtual Campus integration with EOSC, and training efforts empowered researchers and staff to embrace openness and collaboration.
